The theme it's self is a modded version of my UC8,it is mostly
the COLOR CHANGING option that is new, that and it can be fully
Your system must be patched to allow the use of 3rd party themes
I use this patcher-www.syssel.net/hoefs/software_…
To install copy the c8 folder and the c8.theme file for the theme folder in
the download to C:WindowsResourcesThemes
Now right click on your desktop and from the context menu choose Personalize
and choose Chameleon for 8.
It will load as a black theme.
Now to add main color
Run Black Glass Enhanced.curiouso9.deviantart.com/art/B…
Normally on Win 7 this is used for transparency but in this case I'm first using it to get
the Explorer backgrond to change
For this app to begin working all Explorer windows
need to be closed and reopened so close the Personalize window and reopen it.
Now go to the Color tab, once in there choose any color you want and fine tune it
using the "color mixer"
For even more colors and better control try AeroTuner-winaero.com/comment.php?commen…
If you want to have the full transparent effect with blur you will also need to run Aero Glass-www.msfn.org/board/topic/16178…
It is only in beta but is being improved almost daily!
oh and I was unable to get the Ribbon 100% themed at this time
So you will might want to run Ribbon Disabler hb860.deviantart.com/art/Ribbo…
Other credits and links
The font is Neogrey-www.dafont.com/neogrey.font
As usual my icons are Token brsev.deviantart.com/art/Token…
AS NO ONE REPORTED ANY MAJOR ISSUES I HAVE UPDATED IT
FROM BETA TO VERSION 1,CUSTOM SYSTEM FILES HAVE BEEN ADDED
also, what font are you using?? I like them!
I will have to fix that, for now you could just switch to normal size
which should remove that glossy part.
I can't remember the font now,I think it was NeoGrey www.dafont.com/neogrey.font
I use option 3 of this method to change fonts www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/…
Basically the ribbon was made to be black so when you run Blackglass
it becomes transparent, after that if you can change the color by using the
Personalize\color window and adjusting the color intensity slider will change
the transparency level. All the way to the right will give you a solid color.
I only know how to make the ribbon black in wsb-btn color black90,0,0) and bth text color must be white(255,255,255)
I was sick of win 8.1's disgusting look ...
Just could you please tell me how to install the fonts and also how to install the icons and where to get them from?
Het there gsw953onDA, awesome modder and theme maker! Thank you so much for your amazing themes! I have been using Chameleon ever since I got windows 8. I would be really grateful if you could help me solve a little problem i'm getting with the latest version of this theme.
I recently updated to windows 8.1 and re installed the uxtheme patcher (which you use) and Aero glass 8.1. I'm also using OldNewExplorer (ONE). Now the problem is that when I try any theme other than Chameleon, the command bar (thanks to ONE) works properly, but as soon as I load Chameleon it gets hidden. This happen only with this theme and none of your other themes (like Gray 8.1 and Touch of Color).
I've downloaded the latest version from here, and I've tried a lot of things like using different UXtheme patchers and activating and deactivating ONE but the command bar always vanishes. Funny thing is that when I change the ONE command bar Appearance Style from Default to Silver Cream or Flat white, the command bar returns from hiding. This is really bugging me cos using Silver cream or flat white style in ONE spoils the clean look of your Chameleon theme with gradients or white lines.
Sorry for bugging you but I would be really grateful if you could kindly help me out on this.
PS: Do you experience a loss of color intensity or darkness of the transparency inside the windows when you minimise and maximise again? Do you know of any solution to this? (I have increased the color intensity of the black to make it darker, using the color mixer in Personalisation)
AeroGlass Beta4 for 8.1 is working magnificently though, and is highly recommended. I am rather tweaked at M$ removing the default font properties tabs, but I am experimenting on a .reg workaround for that.
This is where I'm at so far, if you'd like to have a peek... Thanks for all of the hard work mate, it's a great theme!
